In recent weeks I have developed psoriasis, due to high levels of stress and anxiety. I am definetly not proud that it has come to this. Ive also noticed that I havent quite been taking care of my self like I should. That is changing starting today, I have looked up natural ways to prevent stress and I am absolutely going to try them (even if they sound silly) and I am absolutely going to share these methods with you if you would like to try this along with me.
Finding inner peace is definelty a challenge in today's society. To much business, not enough time for just you. And that may sound selfish but ,surprisingly enough ,it is healthy to be a little selfish from time to time.
HEAR ARE SOME WAYS I HAVE FOUND TO RELIEVE STRESS:
1. Treat yo'self.
You heard me. Its time to pull out your foot massager and your favorite pajamas because its officially "me time".
Take that extra long nap, watch a whole season of your favorite show, just do what makes you feel relaxed. It is time to think of yourself for a change.
2.Eat Well And Excercise
Yes I know that excercise and a cellery dont sound like the most relaxing things in the world but when you take care of yourself you will feel 10x better ( inside and out).
It is especially hard for a girl like me to even think about any of that but I know the benifits will be worth it in the long run, Plus it wont hurt to feel a little more confident in yourself either.
3. Meditation
I know it sounds crazy and the first thing your mind goes to when you hear the word is that goofy cartoon where the monk begins to float and is saying " aaaaauuuuummmmm". But lets be serious, meditation has been proven to induce internal peace , and with that comes stress relief.
It can never hurt to take a 15 minute break from the world and really just become consumed with breathing and calmness. It doesnt sound so bad to me.
4. Reading
This one is my personal favorite because I love the feeling of being consumed by someone elses world. A world that is not entirely your own. A world where anything is possible.
I do realize that some people think its a snooze fest though. But hey, look at the bright side, you will rep some benifiets and maybe, just maybe, start to love reading as well.
Studies show that reading for as short as six minutes can reduce stress levels by two-thirds. Consuming yourself in a book is a great way to escape reality, and researchers say this works even quicker than listening to music.
5. Lavender
I personally have never loved the smell of lavender, but i am willing to try anything to relieve myself of this. So new lavender candles it is.
Lavender is used in aromatherapy for calming your mind, as well as ,release stress in the body. Research has found that stress levels reduce when people smell lavender, even physical pain is lowered when inhaling the scent.
6. Classical Music
This is another one one my favorites. I absolutley adore the cello and I can say from personal experience that this one works.
So many people turn to music in times of stress, but classical music helps to control symptoms of stress, including heart rate, blood pressure, and levels of cortisol.
* well that is all the ones for now! I havent tried them yet but I will definelty update you guys with my consenses. STAY TUNED.*
